Meet Our Founder...

As a trauma survivor herself, Kristen Kellett understands that healing is a journey in which finding the right support makes all the difference. Kristen pushed through to find a door of hope to begin her path of restoration. Kristen began A Door of Hope International to support other women on their journey to healing, empowering them to live a life of freedom from their past and showing them that their voice—their story—it matters.

The Cry by Kristen Kellett

A Book Written by Our Founder

  • “Kristen has truly distinguished herself as an outstanding trauma recovery coach, particularly in her work with survivors of domestic abuse. After completing her certification with our Association, Kristen demonstrated exceptional professionalism, intelligence, and a calm, compassionate demeanor that makes her a natural at helping others navigate complex and sensitive situations. Her ability to speak candidly and competently about domestic violence, combined with her deep knowledge and practical approach, has been invaluable to both her clients and our community. We were honored to have her speak at our 2023 Summit, where she delivered a powerful and insightful presentation on how to safely support survivors in recovering from domestic abusive situations. She continues to be a beacon of hope and guidance for those in need, and we are proud to have her as a graduate of our program.”

SCARS Trauma Training has equipped us with tools to address trauma sensitively, allowing us to create a safe space for healing and support. Overall, this ministry has transformed our approach, making it more compassionate and effective in meeting the challenges faced by those who have experienced trauma. • “Attending Kristen’s SCARS Trauma Training was a truly insightful experience. The depth of knowledge and compassion she brought to the subject made a profound impact. The tools and techniques she provided were not only practical but also transformative, allowing me to approach trauma healing with a renewed perspective. Her approach was empowering and has given me invaluable skills that I can apply both personally and professionally. I highly recommend this training to anyone seeking deeper understanding and effective strategies for trauma recovery.”

  • “SCARS Trauma Training is an important resource for not only Pregnancy Resource Centers, but also community agencies and the church. Broken relationships and tattered dreams have thrown many people into the darkness of their own despair. Trauma healing on its own, is rarely discovered on its own. Kristen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to turn on the light to trauma healing—the light that helps those working with trauma survivors understand how trauma works. Kristen shares the keys to recognize trauma and brings the tools to find hope and healing. This training is a powerful teaching that everyone can implement with clients to exemplify what Jesus said in John 10:10—“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

    — Cindy Brengosz, Executive Director, First Choice Pregnancy Resource Center-Stevens Point, WI

  • “Kristen’s ministry at the recent women’s conference was nothing short of life changing. Her message was real, raw, and deeply healing. She spoke with authenticity and compassion, touching the hearts of every woman in the room. The powerful altar call that followed was a moment of profound breakthrough, as many responded with tears and open hearts. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of God’s presence, brining deep healing and restoration. Kristen’s ministry made an unforgettable impact, and the lives of the women there will never be the same. She has the heart of the Father and truly desires to see people healed from trials and trauma that life can bring.”

    — Pastor Kimberly Hill,  Destiny Church- Chester, VA

  • “Kristen is very knowledgeable when it comes to the healing of life controlling issues and self-destructive behaviors. She has a unique way of explaining the dynamics of trauma so that the root cause can be found. As a trauma coach and a survivor of many different traumas myself, I have walked with Kristen through my own healing process of multiple past abortions. These were hidden traumas that needed to be uprooted, as I was not able to fully walk into the purpose God had for my life until I went back to heal the wounds of my past. Kristen’s trainings played a pivotal role in my healing process. Understanding how trauma affects the brain and the body is essential for healing. These trainings will not only change your life, but they will also change your perspective about life. You’ll even have a greater understanding of your loved ones and the people whom you come in contact with daily. I highly recommend these trauma trainings.”

    — Shona Chavis, Trauma Coach, A Voice Awakening

  • “I began my journey of healing as a client of A Door of Hope in 2015. I had been sexually abused by my stepfather for 8 years. I knew God was wanting me to deal with the childhood sexual abuse that seemed to dominate my every action and thought. I just couldn’t get over the trauma that I experienced. The staff at A Door of Hope was loving, kind and compassionate to me as we walked together, exchanging the lies that I believed about myself and the abuse that happened to me with the truth of God’s Word and who He says I am. The training has helped me to finally walk in freedom and begin to accept God’s love for me. It has helped to prepare me to actively be in ministry and give back to others.”

    — Glory Riggins, Trauma Survivor

  • "Kristen Kellett, the founder of A Door of Hope International, was my keynote speaker for one of our banquets here in Wisconsin. It was a phenomenal evening. Her testimony from her book The Cry, talked about so many things that resonated with what our clients experience in our centers. Our donors were touched to the heart. We experienced an increase of 35% of donations that night. Plus many more that came in after the event. I highly recommend Kristin as a keynote speaker for any pregnancy resource center or anything affiliated with a pro-life ministry. Kristen's ability to share her story in such a way that touched the hearts of my donors was amazing. She brought a story of hope and victory to our banquet."

Cindy Brengosz, Executive Director, First Choice Pregnancy Resource Center, Stevens Point & Wisconsin Rapids, WI
